Match Reports - Week 2 - 25th. March. 2008

Report week 2:

POP's traveled to the Kangaroo for week two to face off with the Panda's and a fun filled night of darts, beer and birthday cake.

POP's has added one more team mate, Helen, who fits in very well in both personalitly and looks with the rest of POP's sexy girls! Claude is once again joining POP's for darts and with a 100 and very decent darts managed to win both his singles.

On a slow 100's night (Only 8 - 100's and 2 - 140's combined from both teams) most games were down to the wire and depended on who could hit their doubles first.

First team game the Panda's were too tough for POP's and closed out thier last couple of hundred points before we had a shot at a double setting the tone for a night of close matches.

In the first round of singles only Wes and Claude managed to put "w"'s in on the scoresheet against "Triggerman" Andy and "Bar Fly" Tony. In the second round Wes and the birthday boy Claude won again with Angela adding a point against "Hua Xing" Hua with a perfect double 4 check out.

Score after singles: 8 to 5 in favor of Panda's.

Needing at least 2 doubles wins to stay in the match I tried to anticipate Andy's strategy and get a match up against Andy and I, but I failed. Although all the games were close only Wes and Tracy managed to pull out a win, giving Panda's the match without needing MM as the decider. 12:7 in favor of Panda's after doubles.

Wanting the MM as a face saver POP's started out strong by winning the bull, closing 20's and scoring 20 points. We added to our point lead and stayed ahead on points until all the numbers were closed.

Andy, taking learning from the POP's play book called his beautiful wife in to distract the POP's male players during the doubles and MM. It worked! I am sure in hind sight that I should have scored 90 points with the 2 - triple 15's instead of 2 - triples but.....

Needing 1 double to score and retake the point lead plus 1 bullseye to close out the game POP's didn't manage it and with Panda's needing only 1 double to finish us off, Hua calmly tossed in a first dart double to end the night.

MVP's of the night:

For POP's: Claude with 2 singles wins and some great darts. Helen for adding even more to POP's distraction level.

For Panda's: 7-Up with a 100 check out to win the doubles game against Claude and Vivian and a pair of 100's during the night. Andy for calling a better MM than I did and his doubles pairing strategy.

Fun night against a great team in one of my favorite bars.

One note to Captians that POP's plays in the future: Please keep Wes from talking politics, religion or anything else of a serious nature after the matches. Most of what comes out of his mouth by that time belongs in the same place as the beer his body is done using!
