Match Reports - Week 5 - 15th. April. 2008

Report week 5: Week 5 against the Yatchies was like finding yourself at the top of a cliff and not being able to keep from falling over the edge! Starting our strong against a tough team POP's managed to take the first team game. POP's new star playing for only the second time tossed in a double 4 with her first throw to lock up the game and put a W in POP's win column. That put us looking over the edge of the cliff and it was mostly down hill from there. In spite of decent darts by most of POP's players - including Angela's first league toss of over 100 (A 132 with her first two darts in the triple 20!), Jason's win in the first round using his new darts for the first time and tons by Tracy and Vivian POP's just couldn't seem to find the doubles. Wes lost a heartbreaker - well a heartbreaker for him - in the first singles round when Tim caught up at the end and quickly tossed in his double. Jason was the only bright spot in the first singles with POP's losing 5 of 6. Second round of singles more of the same but this time Wes having the only win. Doubles - Well the yatchies just outplayed POP's with Wes and Tracy the only ones having even a shot at a double (And that with only one chance!) Down 16 to 3 going into the MM and hoping to save some face POP's started out strong by closing 20's and scoring 40 on the first throw. POP's extended the point lead but Wes's scoring strategy just wasn't good enough to lead POP's to the win. Worst loss yet in POP's darting history 19:3 but, as always, a fun night of darts at the Yeeha Bar against a good bunch of darters! Wes
