Match Reports - Week 7 - 29th. April. 2008

Report week 7: Week 7 saw two teams playing from Yeeha Bar facing off with Wes's POP's matching up against Smith's Perfect B. POP's was missing some of our normal players with Phoebe moving to Beijing for her new job, Angela and Jochen away in sunny Thailand for a vacation and both Helen and Vivian unable to come. Trying to put a second win in the records Wes called on some old players to try to swing things his way. Joy stepped up right away in the team game helping POP's put the first "w" on the score sheet after Perfect B had trouble hitting their first double. First round of singles started with wins from both Wes and Claude and things seemed to be going POP's way. With Joy also winning her first singles match things were looking even better but Perfect managed to grab 3 or the last 4 games. 4:3 in favor of POP's after first singles round. Second round of singles went pretty much the same but with Tracy grabbing a win from Peter and Claude dropping his game to Smith. 7:6 still in favor of POP's going into the doubles games. Tracy and Wes started strong and finished strong taking the first doubles game - needing only one more victory to clinch a tie Wes was getting cocky and started drinking a bit more (Los Otros was there - once again distracting POP's team with tequila shots!) All down hill from there for POP's! Dropping the next two doubles games and getting soundly defeated in MM put the final score at 13:9 in favor of Perfect B. POP's still looking for their second win but with summer - and therefore smaller and tighter clothing in the offing - Wes is expecting his teams distraction factor to increase exponentially giving us the edge over those mostly male teams! As always a great night of darts with some good games against a fun team at the Yeeha Bar! Wes
